In December 2010 I was asked by The National Trust to create the Twelfth Day Cake for Seaton Delaval Hall in Northumberland.
An article telling the story of the cake and its journey is featured in 'Cakes & Sugarcraft' magazine which goes on sale on 28th April 2011.
This cake is my widest creation to date, measuring 90cm in diameter.
Below is a photograph of the finished masterpiece
The photograph below is of the cake in progress. This really shows the scale of the task.

In March 2011 I exhibited at The 25th Squires Annual Exhibiton in Farnham. I took along five of my designs to display in the Wedding Cake showroom. The three day event was completely sold out with visitors from all over the world. Even the chefs from Buckingham Palace stopped by, maybe they were looking for ideas.....
I was asked to create a piece to go on display on the table of honour. My work appeared alongside pieces from some of the world's top cake designers. I decided to create something completely different to a wedding cake, I opted for a bust of a clown which was modelled from marzipan.
This is a picture of the finished piece, he is now proudly on display in the Squires shop in Farnham, Surrey. There is a 'museum of cakes' showing sugarcraft work dating from the 1930's to present day.
